Cassino, Frosinone's corpse painted ABGOTT, dating to 1997, issued the November demo ‘Celtic Battle Metal’ through Salem Productions. Initially ABGOTT was constructed purely as a solo project of Sabbath Agamoth but during 1999 bassist Hortern and drummer Nephilim would be introduced. Notable gigs that year included performances at such events as the 'Rock Storm '99 Horror Night', the 'Beer' festival, the 'Kriptonite' festival and 'Heavy Metal From The Ice'. The self-titled debut album would be recorded at Ressole Studios. The band followed up in 2000 with 'The Crazy Ones Besiege'.
ABGOTT would relocate to the UK, building up a brand new line up of vocalist / guitarist Sabbath Agamoth, bassist Osmuld Hortern and Odino Nefilim on drums evolved to include guitarists Djavul and Morgoth with The Antichrist as drummer. Ex-member Hortern duly created NORTHERN TOD.
In 2003 an extensive round of live dates, dubbed 'The Unholy Legacy' tour, found ABGOTT traversing Europe sharing stages with DESTRUCTION, NAPALM DEATH, DARK FUNERAL, ANCIENT RITES and BEHEMOTH amongst others. Although ABGOTT scored a deal with Juan Garcia of AGENT STEEL's Oracle label in the USA both Djavul and Morgoth exited. New personnel would be bassist Daemoon and guitarists Aleister Demon, a session player for ANCIENT and FAUST, and Thanatos.
During 2004 ABGOTT shared space on a five-way split album entitled 'Unholy Underground Ritual - The Ultimate Bestial Union from
the True Italic Underground' alongside GRAVE DESECRATOR, TUNDRA, THE KRUSHERS and BLASPHEMOPHAGHER. Only 200 copies were released. The 'Artefact Of Madness' album arrived in October 2006 through Helvete & Hate Records.
